Adventures
During the Otero Ranch experience, explore the unique landscapes of the historic Santa Cruz River Valley on horseback, or on a hike. Spend an afternoon in the charming arts town of Tubac, and immerse yourself in history at the Tumacácori Mission; or play Tubac Golf Resort’s 27-hole championship golf course. Then wander the resort grounds, reminiscent of a Spanish village, where you can relax poolside or at the spa.
Horseback Riding
Experience the beauty of the rich landscapes of the Santa Cruz River while you ride through scenic cottonwood groves, sandy washes and mesquite bosques.
Age Minimum: Slow rides — 5 years old, Fast Rides — 8 years old (limited fast riding available). On Sundays, our horses get the afternoon off.
Golf
Play Tubac Golf Resort’s 27-hole championship golf course, made famous by the movie “The Tin Cup.” Set against the backdrop of the Santa Rita Mountains, the course offers golfers an experience in a remote, hideaway destination with as much challenge as there is beauty.
Hiking
Explore the Juan Bautista de Anza Trail right from Tubac Golf Resort & Spa. This scenic trail follows the Santa Cruz River, offering peaceful desert views, local wildlife, and a connection to Arizona’s rich history.
Visit Tubac
The town of Tubac is a charming village offering a wealth of activities including art galleries, local museums and unique shops.
Archery
Practice your marksmanship with our 3D archery program. Take aim at realistic targets on a walking course among the mesquites and cottonwoods.

Three-night minimum stay. Arrival any day of the week.
Sunday
After breakfast, you can join us for a morning horseback ride. Our horses have the afternoon off, so we’ll have lunch and you can play a round of golf or join us for 3D archery, followed by cocktail hour and dinner.
Monday

Tuesday
Start the day with breakfast followed by a horseback ride, and then archery before lunch. Choose an afternoon round of golf, a horseback ride or cattle work in the arena. Before cocktail hour and dinner, we’ll offer a tortilla making class.
Wednesday
After breakfast, you can saddle up for a half day ride with lunch enjoyed on the trail; or choose another local excursion with a trip to the historic Tumacácori Mission or a visit to the artist village of Tubac and Presidio State Park. Then we’ll return to the ranch for cocktail hour and dinner.
Thursday
Start the day with a ride to a scenic viewpoint where we’ll enjoy breakfast out on the trail, then test your aim on our 3D archery course. After lunch, you can choose to play a round of golf, take a horseback ride or enjoy some instructed cattle work in the arena. We’ll give some roping lessons on the lawn before cocktail hour and dinner.
Friday
Following breakfast, join us for a horseback ride or a guided nature hike. Plan an afternoon tee time or join us for another horseback ride in the unique landscapes of the Santa Cruz River Valley. Later in the afternoon we’ll try our hand at some axe throwing before cocktail hour and dinner.
Saturday
After a hearty breakfast, take a horseback ride followed by 3D archery. Following lunch, schedule an afternoon round of golf, or saddle up for another ride or instructed cattle work. Then join us for axe throwing before cocktail hour and dinner.
